Introduction to Welding and Metal Fabrication
Welding and metal fabrication are two different things that can never be separated. Namely, in the process of metal fabrication, welding is one of the most important stages. In the past, metal industries used to complete all of the stages of metal fabrication in one place but today things are a little different. This means that today welding has become not only a very important part of metal fabrication, but it is also considered by many metal experts to be a whole different industry. Many metal shops all around the world only do welding services, which helps them to specialise in this field and bring the quality of their services to the highest level possible.

The Role of Welding and Metal Fabrication in the Modern World
Welding and metal fabrication have both been very important in the metal industry for a long time now. However, they are more important today than they have ever been. The reason for this is the increase of usage of metal in many different walks of life. Namely, metal is today used more than ever in most all the items people can think of. For example, there is metal in our shoes, in our personal computers and cell phones, in our homes – both in everyday items we use and in the buildings, in vehicles and so on. Most of these different uses of metal require more than just simple cutting and shaping of the material. Most of these require welding of the metal objects. When we talk about modern buildings or vehicles, it is easy to understand the importance of welding in the process of metal fabrication in general.
Welding and Metal Fabrication – Arc Welding
Much the same as there are many different types of metal fabrication machines and tools, there are also several different techniques of metal welding. Any type of metal can be welded, but the three most common types used today are carbon steels, stainless steels and aluminium. These three types of metal are most commonly used today, and the most commonly used technique for welding these different types of metals is called arc welding.
Arc welding is a welding technique that includes an electric arc between the electrode of the welding machine and the metal in question. This is used for melting the metal and forming two pieces of metal into one. In order for the welding services using this welding technique to be perfect, the welding team must be able to work with the metal in order to remove all the irregularities from the welded surface and for the two pieces of metal to appear as they were always the same piece of metal, meaning that any weld defects must be removed.
Welding and Metal Fabrication
In conclusion, it should be mentioned that no matter what technique of metal welding is used and no matter what type of metal is welded, the results have to be perfect. This is required not only for aesthetic reasons, but also for safety reasons.
